Maggie Taylor. It's Always Tea Time.

Maggie Taylor was introduced to me while I was studying analog photography and she came up in conversation. He work and her husband's, Jerry Uelsmann, follow along a similar basic principle: take multiple different photos and collage them together in a single image. The difference is Taylor medium is digital while Uelsmann's is analog.

She describes her process in her artist statement, “I have been using a flatbed scanner instead of a traditional camera to record and interpret the objects I collect.” Her studio is filled with images and random objects, including 100-year-old photographs. “I frequent flea markets and search on eBay for old tintypes and toys that seem to have a story to tell.” [Read More]
